What Vyr said. I mostly use it when I'm making a thread of several posts. I do the first one normal and then do the rest unlisted. That way if someone clicks on the thread, they'll see the whole thing but it won't otherwise clog up their timeline.

(Ok, in that case, logically speaking, strictly in terms of visibility, wouldn’t it make more sense to have the unlisted under “Followers only” before “Private”?)

@otterX @IPXFong it's more visible than followers only, since it still shows up to anyone looking at your profile page, whether they follow you or not.
