@joewynne@mindly.socialFriday, I helped set up a prom organized for a young adults with intellectual and developmental exceptionalities. We set up elegant tables, a food area, section for parents/guardians and loaded gift bags.
There will be a limo that brings prom-goers to a red carpeted entrance area with a crowd applauding. They will get their photo taken with crowns because they will all be prom kings and queens.
An afternoon well spent. I don't do enough of this.
Here you see Janette, the visionary, looking down at her phone. She has to be an expert in logistics as part of her job. Materials here, volunteers there, partners on call.
From her location she even supports kids in this neighborhood who need it. When unhoused people come by, she has something for them as well.
She started this charity after she "retired." A bundle of energy, she is driven by her work, not exhausted by it. A key neighborhood resource.
