So, I did a thing tonight and wanted to share it with everyone.
Random but over the years, I've written well over 100+ Sherlock Holmes-related stories on other sites. I’ve even written roleplay stories as various different versions of Sherlock Holmes, Mycroft Holmes, and John Watson. I wanted to move some of my stories to AO3, and perhaps add a few new ones while I’m at it. So, here goes nothing.

Come one particularly rainy afternoon, Sherlock Holmes finds that he has a rather interesting visitor who's popped round to say hello.

The second story in my Sherlock Holmes series has arrived.

I'm including the accompanying video not because it has much to do with the plot of my story but just because I love it, and it's from one of my favorite films.
⸻
Another case is solved, this one with the help of Miss Adler. Baker Street is silent for a while, and Sherlock Holmes is more than grateful for her assistance. Confessions come to light in the aftermath.

The third story in my Sherlock Holmes series has arrived.

⸻
Following the events of the night prior, Sherlock Holmes makes a decision to call upon Miss Adler. There's no denying the truth of it all. The pair have already made their confessions.
A small teaser:
“He wasn’t wrong,” she added. “You /are/ a man, after all. And I am a woman.”
His head tilted, mind elsewhere as he replied. “You aren’t /a woman/, Irene. You are /the Woman/.”

@floofpaldi Peter Cushing is an excellent choice, I applaud your taste in Sherlocks.
@therivercrow Why thank you. I'm a huge Cushing fan. I adore that man so much. I'm glad you approve.
@floofpaldi I liked his Doctor Who films and wish he had been a "canonical" Doctor on tv.
@therivercrow I loved his Doctor. That would have been so amazing. He's always a canonical Doctor in my eyes, though.
@floofpaldi Well, now that all those extra regenerations have been added in then let's say he is one then!
@therivercrow See, it fits perfectly... I love that.
@therivercrow We can just say he had amnesia or transformed into a human, like in "Human Nature" with the Tenth Doctor, and that's why he was presented as a human in the films. There's my fix-it.
@floofpaldi Ah yes, of course! He even had a pocket watch on his waistcoat so obviously that was his chameleon arch. Wonderful, well fixed.
@therivercrow There you go! See, we could be writing this stuff ourselves... You can even throw my girlfriend @aperfectsong into the mix as well. She's the biggest River Song fan on Earth and we've written many stories together. She writes River like no one else I know.
Oh don't tempt me into writing Doctor Who fanfiction (again) - I've enough to get on with, with BG3 and Veilguard stuff!
Also, hi to your gf - I am also a River Song fan and maaaay have chosen River as my actual legal name because of that character :-)
@therivercrow @aperfectsong Not gonna lie, I've written all three of those... BG3 and DA are in roleplay stories, though, and Doctor Who is both. I have waaaaaay too much fanfiction for Whovians to read lol. That's never a bad thing, though. Dare I ask if you've written anything for our dear Manfred (and his love of rock, paper, scissors) and Emmrich?
Also... Oh my goodness, I love knowing that about your name. So much. That's the sweetest little fact ever. Alex Kingston would love knowing that too, I bet.
So far I only have teeny-tiny vignette scenes for my BG3 and DA characters - no Manfred and Emmrich yet but there's time (maybe when I do a Mourn Watch rook playthrough, see if I can get into life in the Necropolis a bit)! How about you?
And hehe, thank you it is a lovely name, so I stole it! Just wish I had the curly hair to go with it!
@therivercrow @aperfectsong I wish I could share some of my curly hair with you, then! Mine's super curly. And that sounds lovely, honestly. As you can tell by the stories I've been posting on here lately, I'm doing a huge replay of The Witcher 3 (for the umpteenth time). It's been a lot of fun. Playing a little bit of Diablo 3 again, and some Baldur's Gate 3 too. It's kinda ironic now that I think about it, actually. They're all threes.
I have some waviness to mine but mostly it's got that "dragged through a hedge" look which is kinda witchy at least.
And heh, a trio of threes! I'm deep into Veilguard obsession at the moment, but will probably (definitely) redo BG3 once the new patch drops.
@therivercrow @aperfectsong I'm sorry but "dragged through a hedge look" had me rolling on the floor. Wavy hair is so tough control sometimes. And yes! Can't wait for the new patch. Veilguard is just... soooo good. One of my best friends has been obsessively playing lately and she's totally obsessed (rightly so) with Emmrich. The story is excellent.
@floofpaldi @aperfectsong it's so lovely to see more people enjoying Veilguard so much, after all the hate it got. I love the story and the companions, and the quieter beats of the little conversations and outings in between the epic battles.
@therivercrow @aperfectsong I just ignore the haters, as should we all, to be honest. Baldur's Gate 3 received tons of hate as well and still does. Eh, screw 'em.
@therivercrow @floofpaldi River is my spirit animal. Floor will tell you I'm a bit of a psychopath.
@aperfectsong @therivercrow I mean... Um... I value my life, so I'm keeping quiet on this one.
@floofpaldi @aperfectsong nothing wrong with that, when channeled in the right direction!
@floofpaldi Marvellous! I've seen, heard and read a lot of Sherlock Holmes in my time but no Peter Cushing. I must remedy that.
Also, your story is quite charming and thanks for giving Watson some brains and empathy too.
@zorrobandito Thank you for the kind words! You're the sweetest. Glad you enjoyed reading this particular story from the series. Thank you for that, again. And as for Cushing, gosh... I adored his Holmes, and I do so enjoy writing him. And Watson /deserves/ the brains and empathy, so I'm glad you liked that part of it as well.
@floofpaldi that's good stuff, though I thought Irene might be more... cerebral
@zorrobandito Thank you so much. To be fair, there wasn't any room for that (meaning any massive, wild, or intelligent observations) in this specific part of the series. She's going to be helping him solve a case in the near future, same as before this third story took place. I'm really looking forward to writing it. The ideas came to me the other day...
