@chad As a Canadian, this whole insane political situation genuinely feels like trying to talk your immediate downstairs neighbor out of blowing up their apartment. if they do it, you might survive or you might not, but either way: you're both f***ed.
I mean, you just finished talking him out of the idea that he could have a much bigger, better apartment if you would just... y'know, let him take over the lease on both places. We would actually be *much* better off living like that, he'd say.
@froggy_enthusiast I am so ashamed of the US right now. After 2016, when I traveled abroad, I'd say "I'm American... I'm sorry about Trump, don't worry, I didn't vote for him"
Now nations are issuing travel warnings, saying that traveling to the US is risky. It's absolutely appalling.
@chad i know, you guys are REALLY worrying me. #totalitarianism doesn't happen overnight, but that slow march towards it has certainly begun, imo.
the "groundwork has been laid," as they say, and it's truly horrifying to watch... And I'm Canadian! I can't imagine what all this would feel like as a US citizen.
@froggy_enthusiast it's deeply worrying. And what's worse is instead of waking up and rejecting Trump, the people that voted for him are just doubling down, saying "yeah, this all seems great"
