Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is facing allegations of plagiarism in his 1995 dissertation from Oxford. Here's how serious they are.

Note that this is largely disinformation. His thesis supervisor at Oxford issued a statement describing it and her conclusion that it is normal citations practice - he cited publications dozens of times, and missed adding a footnote for another cite to the same paper elsewhere in the thesis, etc.
She stated unequivocally that it was not plagiarism in any sense of the word, much less academic malpractice - quote "no evidence of plagiarism in the thesis".
If people want to criticize Carney, that's fine, but they need to do it with facts, not lies.
