Mind-blowing.
Department of Justice attorney Liz Oyer was told by Trump’s administration to restore Trump supporter and actor Mel Gibson’s gun rights. She refused to do so because Mel Gibson is convicted of a violent crime, but then she was immediately fired and escorted out of her office building.

Before we get too holier-than-thou, remember that Canada's Prime Minister demanded that the Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould intervene in the SNC-Lavalin criminal case to give them a deferred prosecution agreement (so they would not have a criminal record) for which they were not eligible under the law.
When she refused, she was fired from her cabinet position, though they put her in a lesser post to make it less obvious what had happened.
Our scandal was definitely a bigger issue than Mel Gibson. But it did result in resignations after the ethics commissioner investigated and determined the PM and PMO had violated ethics rules (and likely the law).
