I’m astounded that this book was published 40 years ago, long before smartphones or even the Internet. Postman postulates that television is the main culprit for dumbing down society. And it’s just getting worse, of course. My contention, based on my own observation, is that critical thinking is nearly extinct. I’m eternally grateful for the education I received in #Jesuit institutions in high school and college. It gave me a good foundation of critical thinking that has served me very well. I would highly recommend reading this book.
