@SaddlerFan same! I love learning old and new things about games. And to discover games I never played, especially with PS+premium there's so muchnto discover... And it's fun sharing about those games, all games, with people that understand and get it.

@PlaystationPixy I’m the type who sticks to the games he knows and plays them a million times (RE4, ahem), but I did also check out some of those free games that come with the PS5. (Wasn’t too much of a fan tho.) But I always love to hear more about retro games. I wish I’d had fellow gamers to to talk to back in those days!

I loved Biomutant that came with PS+premium for PS5. I still need to finish it though...
I don't have too many retro games, but I'm told that #RetroMonday is a thing, so in a few days, I'll share my first bit of it.

@PlaystationPixy Yes, I love that the Fediverse seems to have so many people my age who are also intro retro games and fondly remember their childhood games! Looking forward to your #RetroMonday contribution!

@SaddlerFan probably most people our age gre up with the games we call retro these days I think that's why we bond best, because to us it was all new and exciting.
Kids these days expect 4K resolution, 120fps and all that... Wait till you play NES or Sega that was real gaming haha.
Just kidding it is still gaming but these days games get better accessibility (which is a big plus).
The FediVerse sure is a great place for gamers.

@PlaystationPixy Yeah I always have to giggle when young people complain about how difficult modern Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road is - I always want to be the old guy who huffs “play the original, THAT is difficult, AND you have to reach it first” Somehow games back then seemed more difficult? Idk.

@SaddlerFan haha yeah what is a save game? If you were luxkr, there were special codes you got to enter a level... And no, no internet to look up those codes either

@PlaystationPixy Hahaha, indeed! I remember the endless paper lists I made that were filled with those special codes!

@SaddlerFan yes! Or the instruction manuals with an extra page meant for you to write down the codes!

@PlaystationPixy Haha, yes! They really thought of the players and what might be convenient for them back then. These days you don’t even get an instruction manual anymore with games.

@SaddlerFan I do miss those booklets! When you went to the store, first thing you did on the ride home (when your parents were driving) was to read the manual for the game you were about to play... I really miss that for sure!

@PlaystationPixy Same!!! I miss this a lot as well. Sadly, I lost all my instruction manuals for the Game Boy. But I do have most of my SNES ones still!

@SaddlerFan I have most games CIB, except for the NES ones. The original games included didn't have a box, just a sleeve and booklet. Pinball has only a sleeve and booklet and for Kirby's Adventure I only have the game cartridge. But my few GameBoy games are all complete.
