With this fantastic garden season,
nature is abundantly full of seeds, grains and fruit. This and the fact that fall migration has begun makes for slim pickings when it comes to birdwatching at the moment, at least here. There is hardly any visitor apart from some MoDos, Blue Jays and the occasional hummingbird. A good time for some maintenance and preps for the colder weather. Livecams will be down for a couple of days, and here are some recent hummers to hold you over.

A Rubythroated Hummingbird sits on a tiny red feeder and looks into the camera. It is a female or a young one, it has no red gorget.

The white spot next to the eye makes it look as if it had eyes like a human, which I think also adds to their appeal for us. This is also either a young one or a female.

The same rough looking hummer hovers over the little feeder, it must have just had a sip because part of the tongue is out.
