This is the weirdest nesting season I have experienced so far. On Father's Day, the male #Bluebird stopped coming, and now the female is raising the babies by herself. There is a male around but he is not helping her, and I'm not sure what's going on. She is great but can use a little help. The babies are 10 days old and looking great.

@Ostdrossel: Is there a way to rehydrate dried mealworms?
@riley You can soak them in water for a bit but I would only do that in a pinch. They turn into a nasty mess in this warm weather.
@Ostdrossel: Might putting a bunch of dried mealworms next to a small bowl of water, so the birds could rehydrate them right before feeding them to chicks, work? I'm sure crows and ravens would be able to figure that out; perhaps bluebirds could, too?
@riley I'd soak a small amount inside and then offer them where their regular feeding spot is.
