This is absolutely exhausting and makes me feel unappreciated. I'm tired. I'm tired of being the one to reach out. I want someone else to do it for once, but almost no one ever does.
To make things more complicated, I don't live in the city. Which means there is no public transport and very little of interest within walking distance. So, if I wanted to go anywhere my two options are either asking a family member to drive me somewhere, which wouldn't work as my family works and I don't feel very close to them in the first place, or taking an unreasonably priced #Uber into the city.
What this means, of course, is I almost never leave my home.
Which means I don't have the opportunity to meet people, to make new connections beyond those I can make online, with people I'll likely never meet.
If you know someone who is #Disabled, please check on them every now and then. They may feel isolated for similar reasons. We are social creatures after all, and there's nothing worse than feeling like society has forgotten or doesn't care about you.
We still have something to offer society... all we need is a chance to show it.
