I think I need a new #sewing machine. I'd consider myself an intermediate skill level, and among other things, would like to sew hand-woven fabric and other bulkier fabrics. I have an old Singer but it just can't hold up to any kind of heavier fabric (or even folds in lightweight fabric!), even after getting it serviced. I'm willing to pay for a good quality machine. What do you use? #sewing #weaving #sew
@JAggieMuse I LOOOOVE my Singer Quantum Stylist 9960!! But maybe you should look into a specifically heavy-duty one if you use a lot of heavy fabrics?
@JAggieMuse I love my old Kenmore, 1970 vintage. It handles thick fabrics almost as well as an industrial machine. It has only zig-zag, though. It's a big metal monster so I have it set into a drafting table (my husband used a router to make the hole) and I can just whiz along on it.
