#OTD Judith Viorst, American #Poet, #Humorist, & children's #Author, is born.
A native of #NewJersey, Judith famously wrote the Alexander series, which includes the best-selling Alexander & the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day (1972).
Regarding the loss of a friend, she wrote,
"#Flowers smell like halibut.
Velvet feels like hay.
Every handsome dog's a mutt
Since Hanna moved away."
Judith once quipped,
"Growing old: I'd rather grow #Azaleas."
She's 92 today.
